a holistic perspective on dry/dehydrated skin.
Are you drinking enough water? I mean plain water, not lemon water, La Croix, coffee or even tea. If you are, yay! The products below will help as well. If not, it's time for a lifestyle shift. Drinking extra water will give you more than just extra trips to the bathroom, it'll smooth out fine lines and give your skin a plump, hydrated glow. Foods that can help with dry skin are cucumbers & melons (yummy), marshmallow or shatavari root tea (honestly sort of slimy but effective), and coconut water. Sunflowe lecithin is a food-derived supplement that helps skin cells stay hydrated.
Sea Change is a savior for cranky skin in need of barrier repair (symptoms- dryness, redness, flaking, rash, active inflammation). Scoop out a pea-sized amount of Sea Change and massage it onto dry skin with dry hands, then massage a bit more with wet hands to fully emulsify (it'll turn milky). Then rinse off with cool water, or use a soft, damp cloth to remove. We recommend cleansing only in the evening if your skin is inflamed or reactive, and using a toner or hydrolat in the morning as a wipe-on mini cleanse. With inflamed skin, less is more.
