I swear it's true that one day you wake up and go "Where did those wrinkles come from?" One day they're just suddenly there. And there's nothing wrong with that, it's part of the aging process. But it's sort of shocking, that first day. Don't worry, I promise you are still exactly the age you feel inside.

Let me be the first to dispel the notion that there is some magic bullet cream or serum that will make your skin look like it used to. I know, I make such wonderful pro...

H O R M O N E. S U P P O R T.
Our hormones are pretty complex, as it’s a triangle constellation of estrogen, progesterone & testosterone. There are also ancillary stars of insulin, cortisol & thyroid hormones (and more, really, it goes deep) that affect the balance. That means balance involves several factors, and it’s going to look a little different for everyone. Couple that with the fact that the human body is constantly changing, and changing in response to those c...

my absolute favorite milky bev to keep on hand. I adore cardamom, and I think pumpkin seed mylk is the absolute yummiest. this creamy dreamy mylk supplies tons of zinc (awesome for breakout prone skin), iron (clutch for anemia), b vitamins (super helpful for stress) & hormone supportive EFAs. awesome in smoothies, baked goods, and as a canvas for adaptogenic tonics.

filtered water for soaking

Recently someone asked me the best way to heal scar tissue. I have some really good tips! First of all, let's remember that the body is an ecosystem, and everything is connected. So let's think about all the factors that could contribute to slow healing & scar tissue formation.

Excessive stress is straight DANGEROUS to your body, let's be real about it. It's not a thing to glorify, or even tolerate. If you're experiencing high stress levels, do what you need to do...

I use the Baumann skin type quiz in my practice on the regular, and it's super informative. If you haven't read her book, check it out. My skin is Oily, Sensitive, Pigmented, and Wrinkled. This is what my current skin care routine looks like. It might not be ideal for everyone with OSPW skin, but it works beautifully for my skin, which is currently dehydrated from forced air heat, pigmented (melasma), and mostly clear of active breakouts (knock on wood).

Thank goodness spring is coming. Longer days, brave flowers blooming, and a feeling of renewal all around. Most of the plants that are peeking out this early are incredibly beneficial spring tonics for lymphatic flow, and flushing the kidneys & liver. Violet, chickweed, cleavers, nettle, and henbit are my favorite spring tonics. Spring in our bodies means that our blood & energy starts to move upwards and outwards, like a plant, emerging from the dark earth....
